DAY99
MORE ANSWERED PRAYER
The remaining tests and X-Rays today confirmed that there are
no anatomical issues with Alyssa’s intestines (upper or lower),
which leads everyone to now believe that the current issue to
deal with is an allergic reaction to dairy products. The series of
X-Rays, however, did show that Alyssa had the beginning of NEC
in her intestines – probably sometime before the original
rupture of the intestine. NEC is a very dangerous intestinal
disease that preemies are at a high risk for, that can cause tissue
death (treatment is the removal of major sections of the
intestines and 25% of the preemies with NEC at Alyssa’s original
birth weight will die). But because of the rupture, she was put
on antibiotics and the NEC was therefore treated early. God was
watching over her on issues that we didn’t even know about.
Her official weight today is 5 pounds, 6.5 ounces – she is
becoming a big girl! And to everyone’s surprise, this morning,
she still had her tape mustache on!
Lord, we thank you for watching over Alyssa and caring for her.
You have blessed us all with Your unfailing love. On Friday, she
will have her eyes examined yet another time. We lift her up to
You right now, Lord, and pray that it is Your will that her eyes
would be healed. We lift her up in Jesus’ name. Amen
I lift up my eyes to the hills – where
does my help come from? My help
comes from the Lord, the Maker of
heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
