     DEVELOP A SOCIAL MEDIA PLAN


     Once you and your media crew have established your programming schedule outlining your
     content and guests, start developing a social media plan that aims to capture your audience’s
     attention before, during and after your broadcast.

     A program such as Hootsuite provides an efficient way of posting social media content across
     multiple platforms at the one time. This saves time and resources.


     The prescheduling aspect of this program allows you to schedule your posts days prior to your
     show going to air. Whilst you will at times still need to post content as it happens, prescheduling
     posts the night or day before saves a lot of time when you are under pressure producing a live
     show.


     Prescheduling also provides you with an opportunity to create graphically appealing banners and
     animated posts about your guest’s appearance on your station.

     You could use a phone and iPad app like Ripl, to produce diverse, animated and colourful promo-
     tional posts that will stand out in a cluttered social media feed.
