1ABSTRACT
This report presents a study on aircraft selection with four different alternatives by using Single-Valued Neutrosophic Sets (SVNS).
The purpose of this study is to select the most suitable aircraft by using Euclidean distance, normalized Euclidean distance, and the
New Distance-Based Similarity measure, with the other objective of formulating these three distance measures. Three phases are
developed including formulating the distance measure formula, applying the distance measure to the aircraft problem and ranking
and discussing. As the result, for the distance measure result, the lower value is better but for the similarity measure, the higher
value is better. In conclusion, the findings show the efficiency of the SVNS distance measure methods in solving the complex
decision-making problem. The study will be better if all three distance measures are compared with other distance measures to
see more differences between the ranking results for all the distance measures.

The widespread use of aircraft in the aviation sector results from
significant advancements in engineering and information technology. It
becomes quite challenging for aviation firms and organizations to select
the most appropriate aircraft for their need. To deal with this problem,
distance measures in SVNS are chosen to select the most suitable
alternatives of aircraft by measuring distance and ranking process
based on the aircraft criteria.

The similarity measure calculation also gives the same ranking results for the
three distance measure. In conclusion, the lower distance is the best decision,
but in contradict, the higher similarity is the best alternative to be chosen.
