Renee Shaheen

I met Renee when she invited me to watch her troop bridge
from Daisies to Brownies. She welcomed this large, active troop
and their families into her home to celebrate the past year’s
accomplishments and welcomed in a new year of fun. I was so
impressed that she not only had something lovely to say to each
girl about the past year, but gave each of them a goal or event
to look forward to in their next Girl Scout year. She showed me
her “Girl Scout Room,” a spacious area that hosts meetings and
activities, decorated with colorful projects refecting her troop’s
Girl Scout journey. After that frst meeting, it seemed like I saw
her everywhere, at all things Girl Scout! Camp Samoa, Dazzling
Desserts, volunteer training, Pearl Girls – the list goes on and on. I
am also impressed that Renee readily supports and mentors
other volunteers inside and out of her Service Unit while nurturing
her own Girl Scout Volunteer “career.” She recently took on the
SUD position with all the contagious enthusiasm she brought
to all her other Girl Scout roles. She embodies the spirit of Girl
Scouts.
