Troop 70720
St. Albert the Great Girl Scout Troop 70720 took action when
they heard of a Cleveland School in need, where 100% of the
school’s students rely solely on the National School Breakfast
and Lunch program for their complete nutrition. The 13 girls, led
by 3 troop leaders, put not only their hearts, but also their heads
together, and planned and hosted a movie night fundraiser.
These scouts used these proceeds to donate approximately
600 healthy snacks to children in need.

When I frst came to East Cleveland in the 1970s, I was assigned
to the only troop that had survived an exodus of leaders, other
Girl Scout volunteers, and professional staff. There were no
neighborhood meetings or other face-to-face communication
with LEGSC. After two years, Margaret was the staff person
assigned to the Neighborhood. She worked tirelessly and
successfully to re-establish Girl Scouting into a viable
Neighborhood unit. She brought the concept of Girl Scouting
In Schools to the council. I will always remember her support
and encouragement.
