Mindy Feigenbaum

When Girl Scout volunteers have support and confdence
from a staff member they are able to achieve council goals
more effectively. Our North Region Alumnae Group has been
the benefciary of just such trust and has enjoyed a fantastic
relationship with Mindy. She has tirelessly worked along with us
developing events like Something Special and our council wide
alumnae luncheons. She has believed in our visions and joined
us to promote projects like the Wall of Honor. We would like to
honor her with this special tribute and hope that she knows she
is truly our treasured friend.

Dr. Jerrilin Nielsen Fitzgerald

Dr. Nielsen captured the world’s attention in 1999 while in
Antarctica, when she discovered she had breast cancer,
performed her own biopsy and administered her own
chemotherapy until evacuated six months later. Until her
departure, she remained dedicated to her duty as the sole
doctor at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Dr. Nielsen
was a Girl Scout in Columbiana County and exemplifed the
qualities of a Girl Scout throughout her life and her battle with
cancer. She passed away June 23, 2009, after inspiring people
around the world and showing how important it is to be strong
and enjoy life.
