Daisy L. Alford-Smith, Ph.D.

Daisy Alford Smith served as CEO of GSNEO with a true
commitment to girls. At the same time she recognized that
adult members can be a positive force for embracing and
promoting the Girl Scout mission. The North Region’s Alumnae
Steering Committee is grateful for her interest in and support of
two major efforts especially-- The Jean Latimer 100th Birthday
Celebration and the Girl Scout 100th Birthday Adult Event
“Something Special.” Because of Daisy’s trust and belief in the
work of the Steering Committee and her understanding that
adult members are important resources for the council, The
Alumnae Steering Committee salutes and thanks her with this
Gold Tribute Award.

Lauri Bucci

I want to nominate Lauri Bucci because she has passed the
knowledge and experience as a Girl Scout on to both the younger
and older generations by serving frst as a day camp unit leader,
and later as Intergrove Day Camp Director extraordinaire for fve
years. Her outdoor skills, singing skills, imaginative thinking and
sense of fun made for an outstanding experience for everyone!
She continues to pitch in when needed and will be the one to lead
a rompin’ stompin’ campfre sing-a-long at the 2012 “Something
Special”. She is a lifetime member of GSUSA.
