FERC: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager
Work Description and Personal Qualities
Title: CSR Manager
Reports to: The FERC Board/Advisory Committee (AC)
Main purpose: To seek out companies who either have a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
program in place or companies who would like to have a CSR contribution by supporting FERC.
Working hours: Variable but an estimated average of 4 hours per month
Key tasks:
• Work with the AC to explore their contacts as to which companies might be contacted.
• Contact companies that may have a CSR program in place and explore possible donations to
FERC. Possible ways of donating to explore are as follows;
- Matching Gifts; e.g. A scholarship sponsor makes a donation to FERC, the donor submits a
matching gift request to his/her employer, the employer reviews the request and the matching
gift is disbursed upon approval.
- Fundraising Matches; e.g.
- Marathons
- Walk-a-thons
- Cycling races
- Scholarship Grants - to fund unsponsored students.
- In-Kind Donations - Instead of donating money or volunteer time, a company will give
equipment, products, or goods to a school(s) e.g. books, musical instruments, art supplies,
etc.
- Service-Based Donations - e.g. IT-support, consulting services.
- Internal Employee Fundraising - e.g. Lanna International School where students raised
money to fund one scholarship for 3 years.
• Work with the Treasurer and be familiar with the tax advantages for Thai registered companies
of providing support for FERC.
• Work closely with the Sponsorship/Scholarship Officers regarding a company’s CSR program
and form of donation and how best to manage.
• Work closely with the Social Media Officer to promote the CSR initiative for receiving donations.;
promote the advantages of supporting FERC in terms of recognition and corporate public
relations.
• Promote one-off donations where a company is not willing or able to adopt a more sustained
form of support.
• Attend the majority of AC meetings and major events.
Skills and Experience:
• Desirable but not essential: a command of the Thai language and/or access to colleagues who
can assist with this task.
• Possess sound Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills e.g. use a computer, tablet,
or mobile phone, send an email, browse the internet, and make a video call.
• A good command of written and spoken English.
