FERC: Thai Liaison Officer - Work Description and Personal Qualities
Title: Thai Liaison Officer
Reports to: The FERC Scholarship Committee and the FERC Board/Advisory Committee (AC)
Main purpose: To act as a liaison between FERC and Secondary Education Service Area Office
34 (SESAO34) and generally to provide Thai language support to FERC
Working hours: Estimated 10 hours per month, more over the November – February period
Key tasks:
• Attend the majority of AC meetings and major events.
• Work closely with the Scholarship Officer on all matters related to cooperation with the
SESAO34.
• With the assistance of the Scholarship Officer, liaise with the SESAO34 regarding all
scholarship issues including the selection process for students receiving new scholarships.
- Organization of bi-annual Scholarship Awards Ceremonies
- Organization of field trips/school visits
- Potential development of an M3 scholarship program
• With the assistance of the Scholarship Officer, developing and updating the scholarship
application form and guide.
• Assist with the development and management of a FERC Alumni group.
• Any other duties that may be reasonably required by the Board from time to time.
Skills and experience:
• Sound Thai/English translation skills.
• Possess sound Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills e.g. use a computer, tablet,
or mobile phone, send an email, browse the internet, and make a video call.
• A working command of written and spoken English appropriate to translation tasks.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
• Possess good time management skills.
• An ability to work independently, flexibly, and creatively.
• To be familiar with confidentiality requirements and data protection.
• To be mindful of equality and diversity requirements.
Essential:
• Have your own computer, scanner, and printer in good working condition.
• Review the FERC Handbook.
