1. Junior Samantha Dales, 11, works hard on a math
worksheet. Math classes often involve a warm-up exercise
followed by direct instruction and then a formative assessment.
2. Ms.Gleason guides her students, sophomores Lai'lah Arnold
and Damian Merced, on how to solve a difficult math equation.
3. Juniors Kevin Pyo and Joseph Park work on solving
challenging math equations in Pre-Calculus, one of the more
challenging math classes offered at Humphreys High School
and a required course for students aspiring to go into
science-related fields in college.

Math is a difficult subject for many - everyone at
Humphreys is aware of this. Whether it be
most difficult math courses, or Geometry and
Financial Algebra, some of the more laid back
and hands on math courses, math is no easy
feat! However, some Blackhawks are
exceptionally talented when dealing with
numbers, and that's an equal thanks to innate
ability and natural talent, and the hard working,
dedicated math instructors at our school. Our
math educators have proven themselves time
and time again that they go above and beyond
for students that may be struggling in their math
courses, and have even shown students the
importance of math in our day to day lives,
igniting skill sets they've never seen within
themselves! Regardless of how you feel about
math, we can all agree that it's a black and
white, clear-cut commitment for all involved!
