From 1965 through 1980, the Jabberwock was held biennially. Beginning in 1981, Jabberwocks have
been hosted triennially, as a result of a cooperative agreement with Alpha Kappa Alpha and Zeta Phi
Beta to host fund-raising events in alternate years.
The Jabberwock Robe
The Jabberwock Queen=s robe was designed and made by Sorors Polly O.
Richards and Bertha Littman, home economics teachers at J.T. Barber and
Havelock High Schools, respectively. Assembled of crimson red velvet and
lined in ivory satin, this robe has traditionally been worn by all Jabberwock
Queens since 1965.
