MR. S. GARRETT, B.Sc., left
W.H.I.S. on transfer to Salisbury at
the end of 1958 after several years of
sterling service here. His transfer
came as an unpleasant shock to staff
and students who had come to regard
his earnest friendliness and quiet effi
ciency as part of school tradition.
MR. T. C. BAKER-FINCH, B.Sc.,
Ed., took up the Deputy-Princlpal-
ship of W.H.I.S. in 1959 with very
much the same devotion to the good
name of the school, to its efficient
functioning, and to personal friendli
ness as had characterised Mr. Gar
rett’s “reign”.
• The MAGAZINE COMMITTEE places on record its sincere
appreciation of the many years of service to the school magazine
of its former Editor. MR. C. LAW, B.A.. now teaching at Indus
trial State High. — “May his shadow never grow less.”
