                     PAST STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION
1962 proved to be another interesting and active year for the members of
         the Past Students' Association.
As usual, the members participated in many excursions, some of which are
as follows : Squash, mountain climbs, barbecues, geology trips, trips to the
Gold Coast, weekends at Stradbroke Island and Binna Burra Lodge, colour slide
         evenings, water ski-ing.
This year we joined in the new sport of Ten Pin Bowling. Our outings
indicated that we have no potential champions, but provided much laughter and
         interest.
Once again the Wynnum Branch was an active member of the Combined
Past Students' Association and joined in many of their social activities.
With regard to our past members, we were pleased to note that
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Cooper announced the birth of their daughter in July at
         Chinchilla.
One of our most active members, Miss Frances Ede, left for six months'
working holiday in New Zealand in September. A surprise “bon voyage" party
for Fran, was arranged by the Association and enjoyed by all present.
As many of the past students are also haunted by the thought of the
approaching examinations, we would like to extend our best wishes to all students
and hope they are a success in whatever occupation they choose to follow.
In conclusion, the Past Students would like to invite all High School students
who are leaving at the end of this year to join their Association. Those interested
may obtain information from the following Office Bearers:—
                            Mr. W. Beverley, President (96 3971)
                             Miss P. Kydd, Secretary (96 2852)
