A Windy Day
The cloud-strewn sky looks troubled and angry,
The sun is in hiding as the wind moans in play,
And it shakes the trees and tosses the sea,
Leaving the birds in despondency.
For they've nothing to do but fly and cry
On this windy day.
Through grass sweeps the wind, it brushes the flowers,
And whirls up the dust and whisks it away,
Then those who can will stay snugly at home,
And no dog or cat would try to roam
Though they’ve nothing to do but eat and sleep
On a windy day.
