                                    FORM 4 Al
                                   Crash I Bang ! Boom !
                               Don’t be mistaken.
Although a great deal of noise comes from the vicinity of Room 4
during the break between periods, our neighbours, 4A2 are the culprits.
As the heading implies we are the (4) Al class of the fourth Form.
                                  WEEKLY INCIDENTS.
On Tuesdays and Fridays, we move to that mysterious room, com
monly known as the laboratory. Here, where a cement wall separates
us from the rest of the school, we put into practice what we have learnt
           in Room 9.
Thursday mornings see our bright faced cadets marching into the
class room. However, by lunch-time they have become very gloomy.
We don’t know whether it is the Latin class before lunch that does it,
or the thought of the French period in the afternoon.
Majorie Lee, Robin Christophers and Peter Lucas are the linguists
of the class, Pat Coe and Michael McDonald the mathematicians. During
the recent camp Alan Barnett and Lex Hinkley qualified for their crossed
rifles badges. Ian Ament and Laurie Munro are our cricketers, Stuart
Robinson our long-distance runner, and Ian Down our shot-putter and
class clown rolled into one. The lucky person filling the position of
           Form teacher is Mr. Hazell.
Finally, we would like to thank all our teachers for the work they
have done for us during the year and to wish all candidates in the
forthcoming examinations the best of luck.

                                   FORM 4 A2
Although all the other rooms along the top floor of that beautiful
brick building of W.H.I.S. are dim, there is just this one bright one,
practically opposite the men’s staff room (so that’s why you cannot
hear us between periods), occupied by the bright historians of 4A2.
Most of the male students of this bright class are keen “Goon Show”
enthusiasts. The following personnel are of note to 4A2 :
John Sands : Is brilliant in all subjects, is Form captain, but dislikes
              fetching the roll.
Stan Bastow : Shines in French and runs a close second to John Sands
              in examinations. Likes day-dreaming.
Mai. Hauk : Is known by most teachers as “Hawk” and is a very
              prominent swimmer.
           John Roulston : Ambition to be a doctor, but hasn’t passed Junior yet;
              plays tennis.
Dick Buzacott : Wears red socks to annoy Miss Pigram in French (so
that’s why we don’t get any French done), Dick is a keen cricketer.
Ken Ede : Is a great “Goon Show” enthusiast and a very keen tennis
              player.
Elizabeth Macoll : Comes down to earth to see us occasionally, shines
              in history and enjoys “batching”.
Glenise Sims : Can’t make head nor tail of “electro magnetic induction"
(She’s not the only one) but loves music and ball games.
Joy Hafner : Shines in Maths B, and keeps very close company with
              Margaret Gilbert.
Lan Tan ; Brilliant in Maths A, but gives Mr. O'Mara headaches with
              her chemistry problems.
Well, this is 4A2 of 1957 signing off, but first we would like to wish
all students sitting for examinations “all the best” and also we would
like to say “thank you” to all teachers who have tried to instruct us in
our various subjects (what are they now ?).
