■ 名菜故事：
田艾草在梅县被称为“白头翁”，在潮汕地区则被称为“曲鼠草”，用它制作粄便是大名鼎
鼎的“曲鼠馃”。田艾草有保健防病的功效。青草制粄，在兴宁地区，以田艾粄最为出名。
岁末初春是田艾的采摘时节。田艾粄可包或不包馅，皆风味独特。

■ Dish Story
Mugwort, known as “bái tóu wēng” in Meixian and “qǔ shǔ cǎo” in Chaoshan region. When used
to make rice cakes, it becomes the famous “qǔ shǔ guǒ”. Mugwort is known for its health benefits
and disease-prevention properties. Among the many varieties of rice cakes made with fresh herbs,
mugwort rice cakes is the most famous in Xingning. These cakes are made during the late winter
and early spring when mugwort is in season. They can be made with or without stuffing, each of-
fering a unique and distinctive flavor.
