Prevention of ARLD
▪ Stop drinking alcohol or stick to the recommended limits.
▪ Not drink more than 14 units of alcohol beverage a week.
▪ If you drink > 14 units a week, spread it out over 3 days or more.
▪ Stop binge drinking (drinking > 5 units at one time).
▪ Following are the equivalent of 1 unit:
330ml Beer 100ml Wine 30ml Spirits
(5% ABV) (12% ABV) (40% ABV)

The earlier you stop drinking, the better your liver able to recover;
when the liver disease has progressed to a late stage,
the damage may be irreversible.
