Biofilms
Biofilms can form on any type of surface, in food and beverage preparation and service areas, we typically
associate biofilms with drains, but they can also be found on filters, poorly designed equipment, or other
surfaces that are difficult to clean or are infrequently cleaned.
The common factor among all these locations is the presence of wet surfaces that contain nutrients, combined
with insufficient and infrequent cleaning and disinfection.
