5.3. WASHING OF THE LAUNCHING CRADLE AFTER
The ORC cradle needs to be washed with freshwater after each use, to remove any saltwater.
This is to prevent corrosion to the steel work of the cradle.
5.4. MAINTENANCE OF BOAT CRADLE
The boat cradle needs maintenance to ensure that it is always operational:
• The winch wire rope connecting pin needs to be inspected and greased.
• The inhaul and outhaul wire rope needs to be inspected for corrosion and broken wires that
could lead to it breaking under load. This should happen once a quarter and should be done by
the Coxswain or Bosun. The results must be recorded in the Wire Rope Register.
