FOREWORD
The principal concept guiding the Indian Indian Scout & Guide Fellowship
right from the day it was established in 1959, is “Once a Scout – Always a Scout”. As
we are an independent organization of Adult Scouts / Guides affiliated to
“International Scout & Guide Fellowship” & registered under Societies Act 1863, we
try our best to respect every Adult in our fold. Further, Indian SGF stands with one of
its principles – to support Scouting / Guiding. We extended & got reciprocated
positively by a sustained partnership with BS&G India. In General, Indian SGF & BSG
believes in the same fundamentals of Scouting / Guiding in accordance with WOSM &
WAGGGS guidelines, by having their own purpose to serve.
We are updating this booklet (E-Book) in soft copy format, with amended
rules for better Management of Indian SGF at all levels and by retaining the basic
objectives, principles and purposes.. Further we have introduced new areas to
facilitate everyones roles and make Indian SGF viable for the coming generations of
Adults.
The link between Indian SGF to Guilds SGF / individuals at grass root level is
taken care of for smooth management. The working relations have been further
strengthened through constitutional structure by introducing Regional Setup by
keeping State SGF & District SGF intact.
The team management is inducted with more options for serving and
smiling with satisfaction by every one of us. Emphasis is to reach out unreachable
adults in India & beyond (for Non-Residential Indians only). The State SGF’s / District
SGF’s have provided an opportunity to have their own by-laws for understanding and
adopting necessary guidelines for better & healthy Fellowship in accordance with
amended terms and conditions.
Special care was taken to ensure Indian Railways SGF to grow and glow in
their own areas with specific terms and conditions by keeping RSGB norms in
background by taking assistance from competent officials and our office members.
The team at Indian SGF National Council tried its best to understand the
problems faced by many key leaders as well as members to function or to participate
in SGF activities. After various rounds of talks, interactions, feedback, deliberations -
this booklet is placed on records. Special mention is recorded regarding the role of
Madhu Kalia & Diana Kharshining for their contributions in compiling, and also for
streamlining the process. This is perhaps, one of the best efforts in recent past. We
record our thanks to all the members of 30th General assembly held on 28th Sept.
2020 for the support.
On behalf of our President In-Chief and National President along with the
complete team of the Governing Body, we publish this amended copy of Indian SGF
Constitution & Rules at all levels.
