                                    May 2025 Abbott UK Company Car Driver Handbook558 EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIESFailure to meet any of the policy requirements stated below may lead to disciplinary action which will result in the car allowance being withdrawn.8.1 You will be required to abide by the Abbott Fieldforce Car Allowance Policy.8.2 You will be required to undertake any driver risk assessment and participate in driver training as required by the Company.8.3 You will comply with the following requests:%u2022 Employees in receipt of a car allowance will be required to complete a TTC e-consent every three years. The consent will allow the Company to check driving licences with the DVLA on a regular basis. TCCwill conduct checks at a frequency based upon number of endorsements/points.%u2022 Employees will be required to produce their insurance certificate and MOT certificate when requested %u2013 which will be on an annual basis.%u2022 You must notify your manager immediately of any changes to your driving licence in respect of points added or illnesses that may affect your ability to drive on company business. Please note that it is your responsibility to notify the DVLA of any medical conditions that affects your driving ability. You must not drive if you are not fit to do so.%u2022 Complete an online risk assessment every three years.%u2022 To respond to email notification of DVLA licence and Greyfleet checks in a timely fashion.Driving without a valid driving licence and proper third party insurance is illegal and doing so on company business will result in summary dismissal.8.4 Duty of CareEmployees have a responsibility to drive safely, with due care and attention at all times. Care must be taken in the use of mobile phone and GPS/satnav equipment, noting any specific Health and Safety policies in respect of such devices.Employees must obey the rules of the road, including speed limits and must not drive a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. To do so while driving on company business will not be tolerated and will result in summary dismissal.To comply with health & safety regulations you must not smoke or vape in your vehicle while carrying work colleagues or customers even if outside normal working hours.All employees driving on company business are required to familiarise themselves with the Business Use of Company & Private Vehicles Procedure (UKEHS-PR-T07) and abide by its rules.
