Other changes in circumstanceThere will be circumstances in which employees will either wish to change from a car allowance to a company car or vice versa.Employees electing to go from a company car (at the end of the lease period) to a car allowance or vice versa will be required to operate the telematics for two years as a minimum. Employees will have the opportunity to change prior to the two years but will be required to reimburse the company for the cost of the changeover.Employees must inform the Fleet Coordinator as soon as they are planning to change their designated vehicle so that the telematics device can be transferred over to their new vehicle.Costs of transferring the device before 24 months must be borne by the employee and are estimated to be %u00a3200.5.9.3. PromotionIf the employee is promoted to a higher grade during the course of their employment, they may become entitled to a higher car allowance from the date of their promotion. BHR willconfirm if this is the case and will put this in writing to the employee when confirming allother changes in their terms and conditions of employment.5.9.4. Maternity, Adoption and Shared Parental LeaveTo comply with UK employment legislation, a woman on maternity leave will continue to receive the car allowance during her ordinary maternity leave (OML). As an enhancement, the company will also continue to make the payment for the period of additional maternity leave (AML) if applicable.The allowance will cease if she chooses to terminate her employment.An individual on statutory parental/adoption leave will continue to receive the car allowance.5.9.5. Other AbsenceThe car allowance payment will cease after 6 months sickness absence.The company reserves the right to suspend the car allowance payment in the event of some leaves of absence over 4 weeks.
