xi) Discussing with the insured, the mode of repair, replacement, reinstatement
dependent on the nature of loss / damage witnessed, and asking for the list of
documents to be submitted along with the claim form in support of his preferred
claim.
xii) Capturing the evidences of damages, cause and origin of the damages, in the
form of still photographs. However, depending on the need and exigency of the loss /
damage, use of videography may also be resorted to.
xiii) Verification of the details of the preferred claim submitted by the Insured, vis-
a-vis the recorded details of the specific losses / damages observed during the
inspection. If variances are observed on verification, further discussions with the
insured are held to sort out all the issues of variances.
The practical constraints faced by the surveyor in his professional work can
broadly be grouped under the following heads

b) Technical
c) Contractual
d) Administrative
