(E) Sericulture Insurance - sericulture is rearing of
silkworms. This scheme is applicable to Univoltine,
Bivoltine and Multivoltine breed of silkworms fed on
mulberry leaves only.

Indemnity is provided in respect of total loss or
destruction of the cocoons, following the death of the
silk worms due to any accidents or disease during the
period of insurance.

Some of the important explosions are as follows:
(i) Diseases contracted prior to or within 5 days from

the date of commencement of risk
(ii) Loss due to natural mortality or normal trade loss.
(iii) Loss due to improper management or rough handling.
(iv) Theft or clandestine sale.

The policy may be extended to cover the loss of cocoons
due to accident during the transit from the insured's farm
to the cocoon market , on payment of an additional
premium.
