Ans. The health insurance sector in India has undergone a
sea change over the past decade in India. After the
introduction of IRDA several new concepts like stand
alone health insurance companies, TPA has been
introduced which has changed the face of health
insurance industry in India.

Earlier we used to know health insurance as taking
mediclaim. Mediclaim was the coined word and it
