         Anatomical Directional Terminology






         Directional terms describe the positions of structures relative to other structures or locations in the body.







          SUPERIOR or CRANIAL


          Describes a position or anatomical direction above or higher than another part of the

          body proper.










          INFERIOR or CAUDAL


          Describes a position or anatomical direction below or lower than another part of

          the body proper.



          Exp.: The pelvis is inferior to the abdomen.
