DISCUSSION-BASED AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

Talking about the media is an important way that students’ media experience can be expressed through. Sharing and

talking about TV shows and films, online games, YouTube videos, social media influencers, breaking news is one of the basis

of childhood cultures . Discussion-based media literacy learning is becoming even more crucial within today’s culture. It
can be nurtured through discussion-based as well as collaborative learning.

There are a lot of pedagogical practices that contain collaborative learning. Yet, students are usually only encouraged to

collaborate during the educational intervention itself. This pedagogical approach makes media literacy learning and

teaching not only collaborative, but also spiral.
