Currently, the castle is located in the third district of Vienna , not
far from the city center, surrounded by a beautiful park.
The little Mermaid-Denmark
The Little Mermaid statue, perched on a granite rock on
Copenhagen's waterfront, is now the city's most famous and
photographed tourist attraction. Built entirely in bronze by sculptor
Edward Eriksen in 1913, it is a tribute to the most famous writer of
modern fairy tales, Hans Christian Andersen, who died here in
1875.
The statue portrays the Little Mermaid after her tail was
transformed into legs, according to the famous fable, while her
melancholy gaze looks towards the beach.
