AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE
FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CAPTAINS
When we wrote our 2020 welcome messages to you all back in January, we spoke about our hopes for an
exciting year of golf, from hosting events such as the Royal and Ancient International Boys Tournament in
Killeen to our special club events. Little did we know that a global health pandemic by the name of Covid-19
would derail these brilliant plans.
After an unexpected and enforced break, it was really fantastic to see Members get back playing and enjoying
our courses. Members were greeted with two superbly manicured courses when the Golf Club reopened and
not so long after Members began to enjoy our Academy in equally impressive condition. It is important that we
use this opportunity to thank you all for your co-operation and understanding as the Golf Club navigates its
way through these difficult times.
We extend a big thank you to Enda and his course team for all their hard work, the courses are in such
excellent condition. Ronan Branigan and Mike Daly also deserve special thanks for their commitment to
constantly improve the standards of our courses.
The clubhouse has reopened and our new caterers Truffle Honey are settling in very well. We would like to
welcome Mike, Collette, Shane, Siobhan and all the team at Truffle Honey. We wish them every success.
Our thanks to Paul at The Chapel who remains open for take away and refreshments. To Mark Heinemann,
thank you for helping to make the significant improvements that we are all enjoying at the Academy.
We must commend Andy, Garrett, Ronan and their team at Synergy Golf for their tireless work on your behalf.
They are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to straighten our ship in these turbulent times.
Our situation is difficult, but we remain positive. We are all proud Members of Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, let
us unite together in the spirit of our community, let us combine our efforts to overcome present difficulties
and let us lead our magnificent Golf Club through these unprecedented times and into a stronger brighter
future.
