Trees & Shrubs
Front garden Rear garden Climbing plant to front around flue
Details / Defects / Issues: Yes. Items of concern have been listed below.
There is low level planting against the front which obscures much of the front external wall at low level. A climbing
plant is growing up the front elevation to one side of the external porch and is not too invasive, however, it should be
cut back from the boiler flue.
At the rear, planting was mostly to the borders away from the house, however, there is a large climbing plant in the
neighbouring garden which is resting on the tall timber fence. This will require regular cutting back to keep it off the
property.
Trees and shrubs can cause damage to foundations and underground services such as drainage. Where there are
trees or large shrubs in close proximity to the property it would be appropriate to draw up a programme of
management to restrict future growth to prevent possible damage.
