SOLAR ENERGY EXPERIENCE
PEORIA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT SOLAR INSTALLATION
The Peoria Unified School District Solar Installation project included the new construction of a 1,558 kilowatt solar
photovoltaic array system at three schools located in Peoria, Arizona. The solar photovoltaic array system consists
of 305 watt Yingli solar panel modules installed on parking lot canopies and playground area structures at Country
Meadows Elementary, Parkridge Elementary, and Liberty High School. The solar panel modules were mounted on
single cantilever and double cantilever steel structure frames and were constructed utilizing column foundations to
provide shade for parking lots and play areas. The project also featured the installation of power inverters, combiner
boxes, and electrical equipment for converting solar energy from direct current into alternating current then distributing
the resulting electricity to the service entrance sections of each school. Due to CORE’s construction efforts, the Peoria
Unified School District Solar Installation project now provides cost-effective alternative energy to the schools.
