TECHNOLOGY + RESEARCH
ANIMAL SCIENCES LABORATORY AT
UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS
The Animal Sciences Laboratory project, built for the University of Illinois, included
the new construction of a 63,000-square foot education building addition. The
facility houses workspaces, classrooms, offices, and laboratories for the University’s
Department of Animal Sciences. The education building addition was constructed of
a concrete structural frame, brick exterior, and traditional campus architecture. The
project also featured construction of two stories underground to preserve campus
space and housing for research animals for research accessibility and humane
care. The Animal Science Laboratory project at the University of Illinois equipped
students and faculty to study the symbiotic relationships between animals and
humans as well as investigating and improving human health worldwide.
