STUDENT CENTER AT CARL SANDBURG COLLEGE
The Student Center at Carl Sandburg College project, built for Carl Sandburg College, included the
new construction of a 30,000-square foot campus addition. The facility houses a snack bar, cyber
café, classrooms, an expanded bookstore area, and computer technology center. The addition was
constructed of custom color precast concrete countertops, precast terrazzo tiles, and frosted 2” glass
fins inset in finished colored center core burnished blocks. The project also featured connectors
constructed of a glass curtain wall for students to traverse the entire Galesburg, Illinois campus
through indoor passages. The Student Center at Carl Sandburg College provides students with the
latest computer technology to successfully meet their academic goals through collaboration and
partnerships with four year colleges and universities.
