hand wrap is a very subjective product. Everyone has their own idea as to what makes the best film.

Here are some of the reasons that you might not want to use pre-stretched hand wrap.
l Pre-stretch hand wrap is usually stretched to less than 30 gauge, the leading pre-stretch is 28 gauge on the roll. That is
pretty light film and some feel that it is not going to be strong enough to handle their heavy loads.
l Pre-stretch hand wrap gives no additional yield. What you see is what you get. 10" off the roll gives you 10" on the pallet.
Most conventional hand wraps are stretched at least 50% going to the pallet. This means that 10" off the roll gives you 15" on
the pallet. A 2,000' conventional film would give you 3,000' applied to the pallet. But watch out for the "neck down".
l You usually have to give your wrappers some training to be able to apply pre-stretch correctly. If they do not tug and snug on
the corners, the pre-stretch film will not hold the load properly during shipment. With conventional hand wrap you just give
them the roll and tell them to pull it tight to hold the load. Very little training is needed.
l Then there is the He-Man effect. Some wrappers just don't feel very manly unless they are pulling the fool out of a roll of
film. When properly applied, pre-strech film holds the load just as securely, but you don't have to work hard applying it .

There are probably a number of other things we can say about pre-stretch, but I think you are getting the point. If you have never
tried pre-stretch hand wrap, it would be a good idea to give it a go. Your people might just love you for giving them those light rolls
to use, and your pallets will be well protected in shipment.
