Management of Purity Life is vitally interested in the health and safety of its employees. Protection of employees
from injury or occupational disease is a major continuing objective. Purity Life will make every effort to provide
a safe, healthy work environment. All supervisors and workers must be dedicated to the continuing objective of
reducing risk of injury.

Purity Life, as employer, is ultimately responsible for workers’ health and safety. As President and CEO of Purity
Life, I give you my personal promise that every reasonable precaution will be taken for the protection of workers.

Supervisors will be held accountable for the health and safety of workers under their supervision. Supervisors
are responsible to ensure that machinery and equipment are safe and that workers work in compliance with
established safe work practices and procedures. Workers must receive adequate training in their specific work
tasks to protect their health and safety.

Every worker must protect his or her own health and safety by working in compliance with the law and with safe
work practices and procedures established by the Company.

It is in the best interest of all parties to consider health and safety in every activity. Commitment to health and
safety must form an integral part of this organization, from the President to the workers.

WSIB/WCB ensures that you will receive an income in the event of a work-related injury that 24/7
causes you to be absent from work. In the unfortunate event that you are injured while at
work, you must report the accident that caused your injury to your Manager and a member
of the health and safety committee immediately, as well as seek medical attention. Reporting
it later will cause a delay in receiving your benefit. The Company pays the entire Workers’
Compensation premiums. It is of particular importance to inform your management team
if you miss work for the injury or must seek medical attention as the necessary paperwork
must be completed and filed with the regulating bodies.

All Health and Safety policies and procedures are kept on the Company Intranet available anytime, anywhere!

FOOTWEAR POLICY
Purity Life requires employees entering the warehouse to wear a minimum of Grade 1 (blue rectangle) CSA
approved protective footwear. This includes buildings in Acton and Vancouver. Protective toe caps are provided
for emergency purposes.
Anyone not following this policy will be escorted out of the area the first time, escorted and given a written
warning the second time and face suspension without pay or other disciplinary action should there be a third
occurrence within a 12 month time frame.
Exception:
Warehouse employees will be allowed to walk immediately to and from their lockers at the beginning and end of
their shift to change shoes. A direct route is to be taken from the employee entrance to the locker area.
Company Meetings:
When company meetings are being held in the warehouse, all lift truck activities will be stopped. Employees
are then allowed to enter the warehouse without safety shoes to attend the meeting (typically held in the
staging area). Once the meeting is over and all office staff have exited the warehouse, normal work operations
will resume.
Visitors:
Employees offering facility tours to visitors may enter the warehouse without wearing safety shoes provided all
persons on the tour wear orange safety vests. The vests will clearly identify visitors to warehouse employees
and lift truck operators. Lift truck operators are to maintain a safe distance from visitors of approximately 25
feet at all times. Visitors will be notified prior to the tour of safety hazards such as lift trucks before entering the
warehouse. Visitors must be accompanied by a Purity Life employee. Visitors are not allowed within the working
environment of the picking carousels.
