The pebble toad has an odd way oof avoiding predators.
It lets go and rolls away!
It tucks in its arms and legs and bounces down the rocks or hillside
or whatever lies below, and when it comes to a stop it is unharmed.
Another toad, called the waterfall toad, has a similar
response to a predator - it lets go, but this toad
reaches out as it falls and grabs whatever comes
along.
Most frogs and toads have no grasping ability,
but the waterfall toad has fingers, and they are
very strong fingers.
Like the bouncing pebble toad, the waterfall toad
moves to a safer place completely unharmed.
How do these toads know what to do?
They certainly didn't get lessons from their parents.
The answer?
Their behaviour, or the potential for their behaviour,
was programed into them through their DNA -
by the God who made them.
