Here is an example of intellectual stupidity.
We quote from 'Pyramids of Life' by J.reader and H.Croze, 1977:
"The giraffe is a product of evolution which has solved its
problems by elongation."
The idea behind this silly claim is based on the evolution
theory that over millions of years giraffes have managed
to stretch their necks, and by stretching have passed
this long neck trait on to their offspring.
This, of course, is impossible.
Just stretching a neck cannot make any difference to
offspring, because genes are passed on through
reproduction, not by behavior.
For example, if a man learns to play piano, his children
have to learn from scratch, just as he did.
Technically, if a giraffe-wanted a longer neck, - meaning
several extra bones, plus more skin and artery and vein
etc, it would have to add new code for extra length to its
neck INTO ITS OWN DNA! This is something modern
science is still unable to do, so how could a giraffe do it?
There may be some possibilty for variation
in giraffe's necks in the DNA already there,
or perhaps some potential in the genes,
but once this is used, there is no more
DNA, and no more genetic material to
add more neck.
- giraffe can make its own neck longer by
-
Rather than cling to the silly notion that a
stretching it, and then pass this on to its
offspring, the best explanation is that God
designed the giraffe family, with the genetic
potential to select for longer necks - or
shorter.
