took the hands of his two grandkids and walked proudly off the field. He

“Yes,” thought Jeremiah, “It would be very interesting to have a
granddad competition, “But right now it was more important to keep the
secret of the secret tunnels a secret!”
He went into the kitchen and reached up to the top shelf, where he
knew his mother always hid the chocolate biscuits.
“Not before tea!” said his mother crossly, coming into the room at that
moment.
“But I’m hungry!”
“Then have something else, like a small apple. I put those biscuits on
the top shelf so you won’t eat them!”
“You’ll have to put them higher!”
Jeremiah took a small apple from the bowl and went into the lounge,
as he thought about chocolate biscuits on high shelves. It really wouldn’t
make much difference how high they were, he’d still climb up and get
them!
He imagined an extension to the top shelf, and then another, and
another, reaching up and up, into space. Even if it went to the highest
point, where the atmosphere ran out, there’d be some kids, in
pressurized suits and oxygen tanks, climbing up and up to get those
biscuits.
