There are about 400 breeds of dog, ranging from the massive great
dane to the tiny chihuahua, but if you trace the family tree back a
few thousand years, you arrive at the wolf.
How could this happen?
The genes in the wolf have the potential to express themselves in a
wide variety of different ways.
Selective breeding can follow any genetic path available - just as in
other families, such as the cat, horse and cow.
No matter which breed of dog you look at it is, without a doubt, still a
dog, no matter how large or small, or wrinkled or skinny, or brown,
or black, or fluffy, or hairless, it is.
God commanded, in Genesis 1, that all living things would reproduce
"after their kind!. The nearest we can get to a "kind" is a "family".
This is why dogs remain dogs, cats remain cats, and each family is
unable to evolve into anything else.
