Amazing Creations 87
Richard Gunther
Imagine thousands of people, all wandering about
on a wide plain, suddenly, and without any leader
directing them, all grabbing a rock and running to
the middle to build a tower.
In a rough sort of way, this is how a few million
'hyphae' all suddenly start to work together to
build a colossal (from their point of view) tower.
They stream upwards, placing themselves
wherever they can to add to the stalk, and then
more millions of 'hyphae' construct a canopy,
with fins.
Out of the fins float millions of spores, and the
cycle begins again.
How do all these individual cells know what to do?
How do they know about working together to
build a mushroom or toadstool with their own
bodies, and then add a 'spore factory'?
They know because God made
them, and gave them the skills .
