The Hawaian wild goose, or nene (naynay) goose, nearly went extinct.
The only thing that saved it was the fact that some people kept some
as domestic, or form stock.
Its numbers dropped from about 25,000 to 30 in about 100 years.
Why?
Loss of habitat, introduced plants and animals, the mongoose,
rats, farmland encroachment and hunting by humans.
Like other animals which have either gone extinct, or have been
brought back from the brink, we all know the main reasons why.
Odd then that, when it comes to the dinosaurs, all sorts of strange
reasons are put forward, such as a giant meteorites or lack of
vitamins!
After the surviving dinosaurs
came off the Ark, the world's
climate changed. An Ice Age
followed, and the world was
no longer was so conducive
to survival for many creatures.
Many dinosaurs couldn't
adapt fast enough. Humans no
doubt also hunted them, and
predators took their toll.
The mystery of the disappearance
of the dinosaurs is easily solved,
in light of what we KNOW about
today's endangered creatures.
Like many mysteries, the problems
we encounter are easy to solve if
we read the Bible and see things
in its light.
