Diabetic Clarity
diabetes. If you are at risk for developing the disease, you need to
make necessary lifestyle changes:
• Avoid eating refined carbs and sugars
• Limit your sugar consumption (no sodas, cakes and candy every
day)
• Increase your activity level (join a gym, walk the mall or
neighborhood, etc.)
• Lose weight if overweight or obese (According to research, a
minute amount of weight loss can do the body a world of good in
terms of good health.)
Pre-Diabetics
A person who is classified as pre-diabetic needs to really watch their
diet more carefully. For this reason, they need to seek the advice of a
healthcare professional and/or dietician to learn what foods they need
to avoid and limit their consumption of cookies, cakes and other sugar-
laden foods.
Pre-diabetics are advised to eat smaller, more nutritious meals (five
small meals rather than three big ones).
Diabetics
People who have diabetes – full-blown diabetes – must take great care
of their health and follow their doctor’s advice.
They need to see a doctor regularly to have their eyes, blood pressure,
blood sugar and cholesterol checked. Uncontrolled diabetes is
responsible for tens of thousands of deaths every year.
It’s up to diabetics to not become a part of that statistic.
