Convention

Since July of 2019, the Milwaukee Police Depa rtment , U.S . Secret Servi ce, City of Milwauke e,
Democratic National Convention Committee, and othe r law enf or cement partne rs ha ve col labor ated
extensively to develop the initial stages of the secur ity foot pr int for the Democ ratic Nationa l
Convention (DNC).

As the City of Milwaukee continues to prepa re to hos t the DNC, an eve nt tha t dr aws roughl y 50,000
people, the COVID-19 pandemic has pr esent ed som e unf or eseen cha llenge s rega rdi ng the way we
physically interact with one another.

The convention was originally scheduled f or J ul y 13- 16t h but ha s s inc e be en pushe d ba ck t o t he w eek
of August 17th due to the pandemic.

“The Milwaukee Police Department is in cons tant com muni cation with all pl anni ng ent ities as we
discuss how the event will continue to move for ward, stated Nichol as DeSiato, the Chi ef of Staff for
