A big part of finding a style is just to be consistent, so if there’s
anything that makes you feel inspired to make a lot of art

              about, go for it!

Creating a series of art with the same concept or de-

              sign in different ways

On the topic of recurring elements, this exercise can be a fun

way to explore what artistic processes suit you, and to exper-
iment with various styles and techniques. Picking something

very distinct and simple to base your pieces around will not

only give you a consistent reference point to compare each
of the pieces on, but it means you also devote your creative

energy to the process of exploring styles rather than to com-

              ing up with new concepts.

Creating in a medium you haven’t tried before

This can go hand in hand with the last tip, or it can work by

itself. Instead of just experimenting within the artform that
you’re used to, venturing into a new artform entirely could

give you plenty of inspiration; whether you’re bringing your

experience with your previous artform into your current art-
form, or taking what you’ve learned from this new experience

back into familiar territory. And speaking of other artforms:

Letting other mediums influence your art

Making a painting influenced by a song, or vice versa. Mak-
ing a piece with a similar pattern style, color scheme, or feel-

ing, as a piece in another artform. Taking a traditional, classic,

and/or famous piece and putting your own spin on it. All of

these are valid ways to begin forming a style, and even if it
