Placing One Foot in
Front of the Other

erome’s cronies, Melissa and Tonya, were working on the contract
we had just won the previous year and Tonya had flicked off on the
clients. The clients were in the process of placing the company on
probation, which meant we had to place Melissa, as the Project
Manager, and Tonya, as the task leader, on probation. I let Tyrone
handle the situation, since he had a working relationship with the
client.
During the same time, Leroy and I were approaching a one-week
vacation at our Virginia Beach timeshare property. Thank God, I
needed desperately to getaway. I told Leroy that I needed a couple of
days to myself. I left on Saturday and Leroy arrived on Monday. It was
a horrible week, we did nothing, he stayed in one room and I stayed
in the other.
