               Dr. George Roy serves as an Associate Professor of Mathematics
               Education at the University of South Carolina. He received his
               undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Rollins College, his Masters of

               Education in Mathematics Education from Lockheed Martin/University of
               Central Florida (UCF) Academy for Mathematics and Science. He went on
               to receive his Ph.D. from UCF where his doctoral research focused on
               preservice teachers’ development of mathematical content knowledge. His
               expertise is in the area of middle level mathematics and technology.

               Currently, Dr. Roy teaches mathematics methods courses as part of the
               Middle Level Education program in the Department of Instruction and
               Teacher Education at the University of South Carolina. His current research
               efforts include examining uses of dynamic technology in middle school
               mathematics classrooms. Dr. Roy is a Keynote speaker during this year’s
               annual conference because of his role as an author on the NCTM

               publication, Catalyzing Change in Middle School Mathematics: Initiating
               Critical Conversations.
