Dr. Dorothy White is a professor of mathematics education in the Mary
Frances Early Childhood College of Education at the University of Georgia.
Dr. White’s research centers on three lines of inquiry: access, equity, and
culture in mathematics education; teacher’s professional learning
communities; and the professional development of mathematics teachers,
educators, and doctoral students. Dr. White is active presenting, publishing,
and consulting both nationally and internationally. Dr. White teaches
undergraduate teacher preparation courses in critical issues and national
trends in STEM education. She also provides professional development to
teachers at the local, state, and national levels. She earned her B.S. in
Mathematics from Morgan State University, her M.A. in Mathematics
Education from Teachers College – Columbia University, and her Ph.D. in
Curriculum and Instruction – Mathematics Education from the University of
Maryland – College Park.
