How to Make Pempek







            Directions : Read the following text.
            Ingredients:

                 700 ml chilled water
                 1 egg yolk

                 2 tablespoons salt

                 1 teaspoon garlic powder
                 700 grams sago flour
                 1,000 grams fresh fish meat

            Tools:

                 Large mixing bowl
                 Wooden spoon or spatula

                 Saucepan
                 Stove or induction cooker

                 Fine-mesh strainer
            Steps:

               1.Place  the  fresh  fish  meat  into  a  large  mixing  bowl.  Gradually  add  the
                 chilled  water  while  stirring  until  the  mixture  becomes  smooth  and  well

                 blended.
              2.Add  the  egg  yolk  and  mix  thoroughly  until  all  ingredients  are  evenly

                 combined.

              3.Add the salt and garlic powder, then stir gently until the dough becomes
                 thicker. Avoid overmixing to keep the dough soft and elastic.
              4.Slowly add the sago flour while stirring carefully to form a firm but flexible

                 dough.

              5.Shape  the  dough  into  the  desired  forms,  such  as  long,  round,  or  flat
                 pieces, making sure they are similar in size.

              6.Bring a pot of water to a boil, then carefully put the shaped pempek into
                 the boiling water.

               7.Cook until the pempek float to the surface, which means they are fully
                 cooked.

              8.Remove the pempek using a fine-mesh strainer and let them drain well
                 before serving.
