How to Make Pempek Sauce (Cuko)
Directions : Read the following text.
Ingredients:
1,000 grams palm sugar
15,000 ml water
1 tablespoon roasted ebi (finely ground shrimp)
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons tamarind paste
1 teaspoon cooking vinegar (optional)
Ground Spices:
50 grams garlic
125 grams bird’s eye chilies
Tools:
Saucepan
Spoon
Stove
Strainer
Bowl
Steps:
1.Boil the water in a saucepan. Add the palm sugar and stir until
it melts and the water starts to boil.
2.Add the ground spices, roasted ebi, granulated sugar, salt,
tamarind paste, and cooking vinegar. Stir well.
3.Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed.
4.Cook the sauce on low heat until it becomes a little thicker.
5.Strain the sauce using a strainer.
6.Serve the cuko with fried pempek.
