- REDEMPTION -

heard him yell at Mr. Rothman, "...It's my ass that's on the line
and in danger of going to prison." (I noted this statement in
                            my diary.)

The Attack: One morning Dr. Chandler called Mr.
Rothman's office from the hospital. Mr. Rothman had not yet
arrived at the office, and Dr. Chandler left a message stating
that he needed to talk to Mr. Rothman as soon as he arrived.
When Mr. Rothman arrived he called Dr. Chandler and was
told that the night before someone approached him on the street
while leaving his dental practice and attacked him for no ap-
parent reason. The attack was severe enough that he was hos-
pitalized for his injuries. It was assumed that the attacker was
                            an angry Michael Jackson fan.

The Attorney Switch: When the investigation of the extor-
tion charge against Mr. Rothman and Dr. Chandler began, both
of them sought criminal representation. It was reported that
Mr. Rothman was no longer Dr. Chandler's attorney. Behind
the scenes, Dr. Chandler and Mr. Rothman continued to put
their heads together as they very carefully planned their next
moves. Dr. Chandler continued to call our office at least four
to five times per day (on a light day) to speak with Mr.
Rothman, and he continued to give Dr. Chandler advice con-
cerning his every move. It seemed as if Dr. Chandler would
not move without Mr. Rothman's direction and/or counsel.
At this point, Mr. Rothman was totally immersed in assisting
                            Dr. Chandler through their ordeal.
